Jewel Spot Elongatus is an attractive mbuna, mature males having black coloration and pale blue accents on the face, dorsal region, and fins. Females are typically dusky blue or silver.Female elongatus are mouthbrooders, carrying fry in their mouth until they are large enough to be released. Keep in harem groups of 1 male to 4 females, as males will mostl likely kill a single female. Pseudotropheus are mostly herbivorous, but will be happy to eat any cichlid flake or pellet in the home aquarium, with supplemental feedings of spirulina or other greens. They require a rocky tank environment to explore and establish territory.
